Valensole Plateau
The most iconic lavender landscape in the world. At 550m altitude, the rows of purple extend for miles in complete silence, broken only by the bees. Local families have kept honey hives in the same fields for four generations.
We can even go to see Lavender fields at sunset time. What do you say ?
Gordes & the Sénanque Abbey
A 12th-century abbey where Cistercian monks still tend their own lavender fields. We time the visit for morning light. The monks sell their oil and honey only here — made in silence during harvest.
Roussillon, in the Luberon Valley
A village built into the world’s largest ochre deposit — painted in seventeen shades of red, orange, and gold. Picasso bought his pigments here in the 1940s. Alongside lavender purple, the contrast is unlike anything else in France.
Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
Wedged into a limestone cliff, with a golden star hanging 200m above the village on a chain. Nobody knows who maintains it. Twelve ceramics studios still fire hand-painted earthenware in a tradition dating to the 17th century.
Guess what : its close to various lavender fields !
